2020 Holiday Gift Guide for Expecting Moms

The holiday season is the perfect opportunity to spoil any new moms-to-be in your life. I’ve tried to include a mix of pampering and practicality. Also check-out the gift guide for new moms for ideas that expecting moms may also love!

Yoga ball ($14.99) and pilates ball ($9.99) - I used a yoga ball daily when I was pregnant. The swaying motion felt really good especially in the last few months. I also used it during my labor and afterward to bounce and rock my fussy baby. It can also be used for tummy time for newborns. The pilates ball is a must-have piece of equipment for deep core engagement that’s a staple of pregnancy workouts and post-partum rehab.

Re-usable bags (from $14) for all the snacks.

Like a Mother: A Feminist Journey Through the Science and Culture of Pregnancy (from $16) - I devoured this book and think it’s a must-read for anyone who is expecting (or anyone really).

Muscle soak ($18) - pregnancy comes with so many aches and pains and epsom salt baths were such a relief for me. This version from Mother Mother adds essential oils and kaolin clay.

Body butter ($18) or an oil ($28) for tight, itchy bellies.

Pregnancy Bola Necklace (from $20) - this concept originates from Mayan culture. The charm is worn on a long chain during pregnancy and creates a soft chime that your baby can hear. After pregnancy, the necklace can be worn shorter and the chime is thought to soothe the baby since they associate it with being in the womb.

Essential oil diffuser bracelet ($22) - add mint to ease morning sickness or a calming scent before bed or during labor.

Compression socks (from $29) that aren’t terrible looking.

Gua Sha Tool ($35) and online Gua Sha facil massage workshop ($25) to create a relaxing daily ritual for herself.

Promptly Journals ($35-$61) - I have these childhood history journals for both my kids. Expecting parents can begin capturing thoughts, feelings, and special moments from the early days of pregnancy through age 18. Promptly also has a postpartum workbook designed with certified therapists to help navigate the postpartum period.

Extra long phone charger ($39.99) for her hospital stay and beyond.

SoYoung Lunch Poche ($42) - this insulated lunch bag is big enough to hold lunch and snacks and pumped breast milk too!

Silk eye mask ($48) for as many naps as possible. Also don’t forget to pack this in your hospital bag to block out bright lights.

Comfortable slip on shoes for when bending over to deal with laces becomes just too much - sneakers ($50), boots ($195), sandals ($45).

Pregnancy pillow ($65) - For me this was an essential item from the 2nd trimester on. I used the Snoogle with both pregnancies but there are a ton of options available from small to massive.

Weighted throw blanket (from $70) - again, for as many naps as she can possiby take. I really miss naps.

The perfect hospital bag ($100)- I love the Lo and Sons Catalina Deluxe which I’ve had for years and used as my own hospital bag.

Beautiful bakewear (from $115) for cooking up freezer meals.
